Charitable

For years, the Gewandhaus Quartet has campaigned for charitable purposes. In addition to appearances for the Lions Club International, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the four musicians also played a key role in the restoration of the Leipzig Thomaskirche, where Johann Sebastian Bach once worked. A „Stifterbank“ today bears the name of the ensemble. The Gewandhaus Quartet also devotes special attention to young musical talent. Masterclasses in Europe, America and Asia testify to this commitment.

Leipziger Thomaskirche

The Thomaskirche in Leipzig is - together with the Nikolaikirche - one of the two main churches of the city and known as the workplace of Johann Sebastian Bach and the St. Thomas Choir worldwide.

Lions Clubs International
